Prem after losing his parents lives with his elder brother Rajesh and uncle. His brother gets a marriage proposal from his uncle’s childhood friend’s daughter Pooja. They go to meet the family and in the process Prem falls in love with Pooja’s sister Nisha. The wedding takes place with great uplomb and celebrations. Soon Pooja gets pregnant and everyone is elated at the news. One day when Pooja is coming down a flight of stairs, her leg slips and she falls to her death. The family is devastated and the young child loses his mother. There is despair in the family. Meanwhile Nisha takes very good care of the child and thus her father and Prem’s uncle feel she would be the ideal mother for him.
Nisha and Rajesh’s marriage gets fixed. Prem and Nisha are heartbroken as they were in love but cannot confess it to anyone in the house due to the tragedy that has taken over the house. Soon Rajesh reads a letter written by Nisha to Prem and comes to know that the two are in love. Nisha and Prem finally get married in a grand ceremony. The movie is directed by Sooraj Barjatya and produced by Ajit Kamal and Raj Kumar Barjatiya. The music is composed by Ram Laxman. The cinematography is by Rajan Kinagi. The star cast includes Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Laxmikant Berde, Mohnish Bhel, Aloknath, Anupam Kher, Ajit Vachani, Satish Shah, Himani Shivpuri, Sahila Chaddha, Dilip Joshi, Renuka Shahane, Reema Lagoo, Bindu and Priya Arun.
