Brij Mohan is married to Kalyani, but their marriage is not a happy one. Kalyani is having an affair with Brij’s boss Parmar. When Brij comes to know of this fact he is ashamed and furious. Not knowing how to confront the situation, he jumps off a running train and lands in a river. He is saved by a woman named Mohini. Soon Brij and Mohini fall in love and get married. Very soon Mohini gives birth to a son named Rahul. Meanwhile Brij changes his entire identity and calls himself Pratap. Meanwhile Kayani comes to know that Brij is still alive and living in disguise of another name. When she tries to extract revenge by exposing him, she herself is brought to justice and kills herself. The film is directed by Ketan Anand and produced by Vijay Anand. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. The star cast includes Vijay Anand, Shabana Azmi, Rehana Sultan, Dimple Kapadia, Kanwaljeet, Rabia Ameen, Dheeraj Kumar, Sujit Kumar, Gautam Sarin and Ashok Kumar.
