Karan, played by Saif Ali Khan, is a stylish cartoonist and humorous man, who thinks he can woo any women with his wit and charm. He meets Rhea, played by Rani Mukherjee in a flight from Delhi to New York. Their plane has a stop-over at Amsterdam and Karan tries very hard to flirt with Rhea, but she doesn’t care much for his advances. They however agree on exploring the city together. They are constantly arguing about things and are at loggerheads about their viewpoints on men and women in general. Rhea frustrated with his views on women and how they should be, leaves in a huff.
The two meet few months later at a wedding and it turns out to be Rhea’s where Karan and his mother are making arrangements. Karan and Rhea again have a scuffle about their opposing views on love and marriage. Eventually Rhea leaves with her husband for their honeymoon leaving Karan to find his own path in life. Years later the two meet again in Paris where Karan learns that Rhea’s life has turned tragic when her husband is killed in a car accident. Meanwhile Karan and Rhea get close and he realizes that he has fallen in love with her. She Also confesses her love later and the two unite.
The movie is directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Aditya Chopra. The music is composed by Jatin-Lalit.
