Kavya, played by Alia Bhatt stays in Ambala. She is going to get married to an NRI doctor from the US Angad, played by Siddharth Shukla. She wants an expensive designer gown for her wedding so she decides to go to Delhi. There she meets Humpty, played by Varun Dhawan. He falls in love with her but she doesn’t pay any heed to him. They become friends and she tells him about her friend, who is being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend.

 

Humpty decides to help her by hatching a plan to get money from her friend’s ex and teaching him a lesson. His will to help her makes Kavya fall for Humpty. They make love but she confides in Humpty that she cannot go against her father’s wishes and takes the money that Humpty and his friends help her get and leaves for her hometown.

 

Kavya tells her father she doesn’t want an expensive dress anymore and uses the money to buy Humpty a car. Humpty surprised by her actions goes to Ambala to win her back, but her father isn’t happy about their union and beats up Humpty. He asks Humpty to find flaws in Angad and why Kavya shouldn’t marry him. Unable to find flaws he decides to elope with Kavya but her father stops them and beats him. He goes back to Delhi and eventually her father gives her the permission to marry Humpty.

 

The movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar. The music is composed by Sachin-Jigar and Shaarib-Toshi.
