Raju is an orphan brought up in an orphanage named Bal Mandir. One day a guest house owner named Amina who loves children happens to meet Raju and asks to adopt him. She also adopts another boy named Vijay. Raju and Vijay now take each other as brothers and love each other very much. Vijay is a studious boy who wants to study hard and fulfill his late father’s wishes of becoming a chemical engineer. The lack of resources and finance however are a hindrance in his way. This is when Raju comes in and offers to help his monetary needs. Vijay finally completes his studies and goes to London for further training. He meet Rai Shahab there and later comes to know that his daughter Renu, is unwell. Renu has been pampered right from birth and is stubborn and strong headed. She is adamant to marry a boy named Kailash, but Rai Sahab is against the marriage as he is the son of his enemy.
The film is directed by Sushil Malik and produced by Surendra Pal Choudhary. The music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji and the story is written by Kulwant Jani. The star cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Sumeet Saigal, Farha, Mehmood, Ranjeet, Pran, Om Prakash and Satyen Kappu.
