Rajiv, played by Shahid Kapoor wants to be popular in his college, however since he doesn’t have a girlfriend, Danny and Javed mock him. So Rajiv decides to fake being in love with his childhood friend Payal, played by Amrita Rao. Danny and Javed decide to go to Alibagh with their respective girlfriends and invite Rajiv and his close friend Mambo. However they put the condition that Rajiv and Mambo must come with girls. So Rajiv convinces Payal, who in turn convinces her strict parents. At Alibagh Rajiv tries to get intimate with Payal but she gets offended and slaps him. Rajiv in fury tells her to leave and promises that he will have the most beautiful girl in college soon.
A new girl called Alisha, played by Shenaz Treasurywala joins college. She is beautiful and vivacious and all the boys are besotted by her. Rajiv comes to know that she likes Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, So he fakes knowing him and gets close to her. They both start dating and this breaks Payal’s heart who has always loved Rajiv since childhood. One day when Rajiv is at Payal’s place to return a book he sees her scrap book full of his pictures and realizes she loves him a lot and he apologizes to her for his behavior. He then breaks up with Alisha as he never really loved her.
The movie is directed by Ken Ghosh and produced by Kumar Taurani and Ramesh Taurani. The music is composed by Anu Malik.
