The story revolves around the sweet and sometimes suffocating relationship shared between a son and father. The father is very possessive of his son and wants only the best for him. He makes sure he is not deprived of anything, especially the things he did not receive growing up. This leaves the son’s choices and desires all hidden under the heavy blanket of respect and love.
All the dreams and desires that the father has had, are fulfilled by the son as he feels it is his duty to do so. Somewhere he gets anxiety at not living his life on his own terms. Then one day he finds himself falling in love but his over protective father has already chosen a bride for him and he is supposed to marry her. This time he he breaks all the shackles of subdued acceptance and follows his heart when he confesses about his love.
The father too realizes that he has been too hard on his son and taken away all his freedom in life. Eventually the father agrees to unite the two lovers and they get married. The movie is directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor and Sridevi Kapoor. The music is composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.
