Shankar grows up struggling in a poor lifestyle with his mother, since his father Satyapal had left them for a courtesan named Meenabai. They have since then been fending for themselves. After growing up Shankar is a handsome and brave man and two beautiful women are deeply in love with him. One is the wealthy Sunita, daughter of Bhanu Pratap and the other is Madhu who hails from a poor family. Both women feel sure that Shankar loves only them. Meanwhile a rich and powerful woman named Amita hires Shankar and tells him to spy on Bhanu Pratap, his sons and partner. He gets comprehensive information on Bhanu and passes it on to Amita.

One day while chatting with some villagers, Shankar comes to know that his father had a bad reputation and had double crossed Bhanu and killed his brother. Shankar is now desperate to find Meenabai but is unable to trace her. Little does he know that Meenabai is non other than Amita herself. The film is directed by Umesh Mehra and the music is composed by Anu Malik. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Rekha, Mandakini, Moon Moon Sen, Amrit Pal, Jagdeep, Gulshan Grover, Roopesh Kumar, Sharat Saxena, Tej Sapru, Yunus Perwaiz, Jeetendra, Vinod Mehra, Ila Arun and Tanuja.
