Vinod and Sudhir are close friends who open a photo studio together in hopes of making some good money. The studio initially doesn’t make much money and they keep getting menial jobs. Their fate changes when a daily publication named ‘Khabardar’ decides to give the duo the job of clicking pictures of scandals of the rich and affluent. As they begin their assignment, they are asked to investigate the dealings of a corrupt Municipal commissioner D’Mello and a wealthy builder named Tarneja. They find out that Tarneja’s business rival named Ahuja is also involved. Meanwhile Sudhir and Vinod take part on a photography contest where the winner will receive Rs. 5000. They start randomly taking pictures all over the city and bring them back to the studio to develop. In one of the pictures they realize that Tarneja has been captured shooting someone. They go back to the location but the body is missing. They later come to know that it was D’Mello who was shot dead. They then go to get the
body which is now taken by Tarneja’s rival Ahuja. The editor Shobha now wants a piece of the story but soon Tarneja tells her and Ahuja that is he goes to jail, their malpractices will also be exposed. Thus they blame the murder on Vinod and Sudhir, who do jail time on false charges.
The film is directed and produced by Kundan Shah. The music is composed by Vanraj Bhatia and the story is written by Sudhir Mishra. The cinematography is by Binod Pradhan. The star cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Bhakti Barve, Satish Shah, Pankaj Kapoor, Rajesh Puri, Om Puri and Neena Gupta.
