Jab Harry Met Sejal is a romantic drama film directed by Imtiaz Ali, produced by Gauri Khan, starring Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan in the pivotal role, released on the 4th of August 2017.
The film is about a Tourist Guide cum driver Harinder (Harry) Singh Nehra in Amssterdam who is the friendly sorts, lonely and loves to flirt with his clients risking his job. Harry is originally from a small town Nurmahal in Punjab. Harry meets Sejal Zaveri (Anushka Sharma) accidentally when he goes to drop her family to the airport. However, Sejal doesn’t take the flight back with her family and turns back to look for her engagement ring which she loses in Amsterdam and decides she will not go back without finding her ring.
She seeks Harry’s help to find the ring. While they together search for her missing engagement ring they both become friends . Together they travel to many places in Europe where she has visited with her family, with a hope of finding it. Harry falls in love with her but is aware of her being engaged to Rupen(Kavi Shastri). He does not reveal to her. Both realise they are in love with each other. Somewhere along, she realises the ring is in her purse and she has found it but she pretends to still look for it so that she can be in his company. Harry understands the meaning of love and relationships while doing so finds himself in new experience of solace, love and security in the relationship with Sejal.
At the airport she reveals that she had found the ring a few days back. She returns to India and he goes back to being the tourist guide, working for his living. But on his friend’s instance he flies to Mumbai to attend her wedding where he learns that her marriage has been called off. They meet again and share their feelings for each other and go to this village in Punjab to get married.
