Set in Bihar, Abhay Singh, played by Sidharth Malhotra is hired to kidnap groom in his village. This is done so that the bride’s family will not have to pay any dowry to the groom’s family during the wedding ceremony. The groom is forcefully made to tie the knot with the bride. Abhay is a local thug who has helped many bride’s families by kidnapping the grooms and is become somewhat of an expert in doing so. He falls in love with Babli Yadav, played by Parineeti Chopra.
Babli is a vivacious and fiery girl who lives by her own rules. She will not let anyone dictate any rules to her. When Abhay and Babli meet, they are at logger heads but eventually fall in love. The film is directed by Prashant Singh and produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Shailesh R Singh, under the production banners Balaji Motion Pictures, Karma Media & Entertainment and ALT Entertainment Pvt Ltd, and is distributed by Zee Studios (International) and Pen Marudhar Entertainment.
Jabariya Jodi’s music is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, ramji Gulati, Sachet-Parampara,Vishal Mishra and Ashok Mastie. The background score is composed by Joel Crasto. The movie also features Aparshakti Khurana, Sanjay Mishra, Jaaved Jaafri, Neeraj Sood, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Gopal Dutt.
