The director of this film is Anurag Basu, producer- Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu. It released on the 14th of July 2017 and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Saurabh Shukla.
It is a story about a High Profile Purulia Arms Drop case which had taken place in 1995 to overthrow the Government Communist in West Bengal, India. Jagga (Ranbir Kapoor) is a very shy, curious young lad in a little town who stammers, lives a happy life and does not talk much. His father Bagchi (Saswata Chatterjee) is accident prone and teaches Jagga to speak in a singing way as it gets easier, but admits him in to a boarding school and disappears. He feels abandoned like an orphan. Jagga’s only contact with his father is through VHS tapes which he receives on his birthday.
Jagga with his armed, sharp detective skills starts searching for his father and along the way meets a Journalist Shruti (Katrina Kaif) who has an international case to solve. Both together realise that Jagga’s father Bagchi is connected to a smuggling racket. The film has been shot in Thailand, Morocco and Darjeeling.
