Set in the pre-independence era, the film gives a brief account of India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shashtri and his various struggles to give the country its freedom from the British rule. Lal Bahadur Shashtri played a very crucial role in our country’s independence but he had his own personal demons to deal with like low economic conditions, unexpected death of his father and mother to take care of. He completed his education in Banaras and decided to come to Allahabad, that is when he perceived a revolution.
There were mainly two groups; Garam Dal and Naram Dal with diverse ideologies that were pursuing warfare against the cruel Britishers. Naram Dal under the patronage of Gandhiji led a peaceful march in protest of the British.
Not only did he focus on bringing India its well deserved freedom but was motivated to be the Prime Minister and take the country to new heights. Lal Bahadur Shashtri is credited with India’s virtuous fight with Pakistan in 1965 and his very famour slogan of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan.
The movie is directed by Milan Ajmera and produced by Madan lal Khurana, Seema Chakerverty, Pankaj Dua and Honey Chaudhary (Line Producer). The music is composed by Rupesh and Girish.
