Gauri is pampered by her 7 brothers and parents to lead a happy and joyful life. She is given everything to eat as much as she desires and never restricted for anything. She falls in love with Shankar and wants to marry him. Her brothers arrange for her wedding and soon she is a happily married girl and moves in with her in-laws. When the day of Karwa Chauth comes she comes to her parent’s house and offers fast and prayers. Her brother feels sorry for her and puts up a fake moon so she can eat. This makes Devi Maa angry and she kills Shankar. Gauri is devastated and begs the Dev to bring him back to life. She stays with the decomposing body of Shankar until Devi doesn’t change her mind. But the Devi is punishing her for her deeds.
