Durgeshwari Devi is a wealthy and stubborn lady with some hard-core and strict principles in life. She has full control of her household which include her brother DDT, daughter Rekha and two sons Neeraj and Dheeraj. She dreams of getting her daughter married in a rich and influential family like hers. But all her dreams fall apart when Rekha falls in love with a poor man named Raja. Raja is street smart and educated but unemployed. This makes Durgeshwari furious but she cannot deny her daughter’s happiness so she schemes to make misunderstandings between the couple. She asks Raja to stay in her house after marriage and humiliates him at every given chance. However he wins her trust and soon she sees the good in him.
The film is directed by A Kodandarami Reddy and produced by Trivikrama Rao T. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the screenplay is written by A Kodandiramy Reddy. The star cast includes Anil Kapoor, Hema Malini, Madhuri Dixit, Shakti Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Alok Nath, Annu Kapoor, Shashi Puri, Anand Balraj, Jagdeep, Vikas Anand, Seema Deo and Divya.
