Karan, played by Tusshar Kapoor and Pooja, played by Kareena Kapoor are childhood friends. Her dad used to take her to the hill station during the school vacations and she used to look forward to them only for the reason that she would see Karan. Unfortunately her father has to relocate to another city and the two friends separate. They lose touch with each other but cannot forget the memories that they have together. As the two grow up they start to look for each other but are unsuccessful.
Meanwhile Karan starts to date Seema, played by Mallika Sherawat. Pooja in quest to search for Karan writes down their childhood story and publishes it. When Seems reads it she realizes there are similarities and Karan and Pooja are the friends looking for each other. When he sings a song ‘Jeena Sirf Mere Kiye’ at Seema’s party Pooja recognizes him to be her childhood sweetheart. However Karan’s father has put a condition that if he marries Pooja, his sister’s wedding will be called off, this puts Karan in a dilemma. However later on learning the truth Pooja marries Karan in front of the family.
