The star cast includes Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. The film is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.
Arjun is a Ranji player who is talented and ambitious. He falls in love with Sarah and later marries her. His career however doesn’t take off as well as he expected. He is rejected from the Indian team because of its politics and later gets a government job through the sports quota. He looses that job as well as he is falsely accused of bribery. He now has a 7 year old son who asks for a jersey on his birthday. The jersey costs Rs 500 and Arjun doesn’t have the money so he starts to ask his friends for it but is unable to secure it. Later in desperation he takes part in a charity match but realizes there is no fee for it. In anger he slap his son for asking for the jersey. He later regrets it and knows his son’s love for him.
Arjun decides to continue playing cricket and also gets selected in the Ranji team. In a flash back it is shown that his son Nani who has now grown up is invited to a felicitation ceremony for the book ‘Jersey’ written on Arjun, Nani’s father. It is then revealed that Arjun died 2 days post the Ranji finals as he was suffering from a heart disease called Arrhythmia since an early age. He suffered from this heart condition since the age of 26 but never told anyone about it. Nani is later presented with a gift. When he opens it, he is shocked to know that it is the jersey he had asked for 23 years ago.
