Kaala Patthar is directed & produced by Yash Chopra, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Rakhee, Parveen Babi, Neetu Singh, Prem Chopra. Released on the 9th of August 1979.
Vijay Pal Singh (Amitabh Bachchan) is a disgraced Merchant Navy Captain who leaves his ship while it is sinking putting more than 300 passengers at risk. He feels miserable and guilty so takes up a job at the coal mines, meets Ravi Malhotra (Shashi Kapoor) who is an engineer, makes enemies with Mangal (Shatrughan Sinha) an escaped dacoit who works in the mines to be away from the cops. There are a few fights between them and one day Mangal is hurt and Vijay takes him to Doctor Sudha Sen (Rakhee). Vijay gives blood to Mangal to save his life and they become friends. Doctor Sudha Sen supports Vijay and helps him come out of his past. Ravi and Mangal are busy with their romance with Anita (Parveen Babi) and Channo (Neetu Singh)
Seth Dhanraj (Prem Chopra) is the chief of the Coal mines who gives a lot of trouble to the workers so Vijay, Ravi and Mangal come together, fight for justice against Dhanraj.
