The story of Kaalo revolves around a horrifying witch who lived in the 18th century and killed baby girls to satisfy her greed for eternal youth. She was killed and buried by furious villagers. But she returns in the present day again, in the village of Kulbhata where she has unfinished business. No sooner do the villagers hear about her sightings, the village is vacated and the roads that lead to the village are sealed shut. Everyone is petrified to go even 100 meters close to the village.
Unfortunately a bus on the way to Kuldevi has to pass through the village of Kulbhata. Among the passengers in the bus is a eleven year old girl called Shona, who is travelling by herself to visit her grandmother. The witch Kaalo, sadly can smell her from miles away and goes for the bus she’s travelling in. All the passengers in the bus now want Shona out as her presence will mean death for all. Everyone on the bus who was once nice and loving to her had now become her sworn enemy, except one boy named Sameer who decided to stand by her no matter what.
Bravely Sameer comes forward when Kaalo appears and he pierces her eyes with two sticks. She is now screaming in pain and unable to see. He then ties a gunpowder bag to her neck and it explodes her body to pieces, thus wiping her off the face of the earth. And Shona and Sameer head home.
