Bhoop Singh is an honest and hard working man who works under the wealthy Laxmi Singh. He lives with his wife and unmarried sister. Bhoop decides to keep all his life’s savings with Laxmi for safety. His sister’s marriage soon gets fixed and he goes to get his money from Laxmi but he instead humiliates him. His sister’s marriage is thus called off and she kills herself. Bhoop is furious and murders Laxmi in anger. From then on he lives the life of an outlaw and crime. He then has a daughter and soon arrested. He tells his wife to care for their daughter as a widow.
In jail Bhoop meets a kind and interesting man Jaswant who is in the city to look for his lost brother. Little does Bhoop know that Jaswant is non other than dacoit Durjan, the brother of his old partner he had duped. The film is directed by M N Yasin and produced by Kamal Choudhary. The music is composed by Shankar and the cinematography is by Anand Gadnis. The star cast includes Sanjeev Kumar, Rajan Sippy, Smita Patil, Amrish Puri, Shakti Kapoor, Om Prakash, Nilu Phule, Raj Mehra, Purnima and Urmila Bhatt.
