Ritesh enjoys a huge fan following as a movie star and lives a lavish lifestyle with his wife Pooja and son Romi. However, things take a drastic turn after Ritesh’s movie begin to become unsuccessful one after the other and he almost becomes bankrupt. He is then forced to give up his rich lifestyle and compromise to live a more humble and middle class one. He turns to alcohol to reduce his burden and his wife is forced to take up many small time jobs. At one such job at the hotel, Pooja is one day molested by a ruffian and is later saved by a stranger called Alok. Alok is a wealthy man who offers Pooja a decent job.
Meanwhile Ritesh and Pooja’s marriage takes an ugly turn with constant arguments and fights. He wants her to quit working and be at home but she refuses. They decide to separate. He then comes to know that Romi is suffering from cancer. The couple decide to give their marriage another chance for the sake of their sick child. Turns out the couple re-discover love for each other. The film is directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Anwar Ali and F K Rattonsey. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan. The star cast includes Jackie Shroff, Master Makrand, Anupam Kher, Dimple Kapadia, Satish Kaushik and Mehmood.
