Kabhi Kabhi is a multi star cast romantic drama film released in 1976 directed and produced by Yash Chopra.  Starring a string of stalwarts as Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Simi Garewal, Parikshit Sahni, and few others. 

This film was Yash Chopra’s second directorial film and was very popular for not just for the super star cast, the story as well as for the melodious songs that got won many music awards.

Amit Malhotra (Amitabh Bacchhan) is a poet writer who recites his poems during one of the college campus/university gathering.  Fellow student Pooja(Rakhee) and he both fall in love with each other. However, Pooja’s parents have already arranged her alliance with Vijay Khanna (Shashi Kapoor) an architect and she is married off. A heartbroken Amit returns home and joins his father’s business and later marries Anjali (Waheeda Rehman) who has a past too. She is an unwed mother of Pinky(Neetu Singh) and since she was born from a pre-marital relationship, she is given away to be adopted by a loving childless couple Dr. and Mrs. R. P.Kapoor( Parikshit Sahni and Simi Garewal) who dote and love her like their own child.   Pinky meets Vikram/Vicky meet at a college outing and fall in love with each other.  Pinky comes to know from her foster parents that she was adopted. She leaves the house in search of her biological mother and lands up at Amit Malhotra and Anjali’s residence .She is heart broken when her mother who welcomes her warmly but does not let her address her as mother. They have their own daughter Sweety. Vicky follows her and wants to be near Pinky but there is a confusion as Sweety falls in love with Vicky.  A lot of emotional scenes with the acceptance of Pinky by her mother as well as the film shows relationships with faith, support and comfort.    With a happy ending that has Vikram and Pinky getting married.  A film with chain of events that unites old flames who began as friends.
