Veer, his older brother, and Bhabi all live middle-class lives in a village in southern India. Veer is a kind man who enjoys assisting everyone. Malini, who aspires to wed him, is one among his admirers, and Bhabi and Veer's brother have already given him their blessing. Unexpectedly, Veer marries Malini's blind companion Sita, much to the chagrin of his brother, who forbids this union and even orders Veer to leave. Veer departs, rents a room, makes a living, helps out around the house, and takes care of Sita. Malini's situation also changes after she is made to wed a man she doesn't love. Malini's situation worsens when her spouse bans her.
