After the death of wealthy businessman Raibahadur, his twin daughters Rekha and Rashmi manage the business. Rashmi however is in love with the factory manager Kishore, which displeases Rekha and she sends her sister away to study painting. Meanwhile, one day when Rekha’s car breaks down near her estate, a young and handsome Prem comes to her rescue and fixes her car. Soon one things leads to another and
as time passes by they fall in love. Rekha announces her engagement to Prem and entrusts the running of the business to Rashmi. On the engagement night however Prem goes missing when inspector Vikas shows up to wish the couple. On a boat ride one evening, Rekha and Prem seem to be having great time till things turn ugly and she is pushed into the lake. Rekha is assumed to be dead and a funeral is held. She is however alive and reaches her friend Pinky’s house and takes her help to uncover the truth and the killer. The film is directed and produced by Ved Rahi. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Danny Denzongpa, A K Hangal, Jagdeep, Jankidas, Pinchoo Kapoor, Nazir Hussain, Aruna Irani, Lalita Pawar and Urmila Bhatt.
