Bhagwan Ram sends his bhakt Hanuman to the modern India. He sends him to witness the dark ages and how poverty, regression has taken over the peaceful and calm world. He is however mistaken for a foreign spy by the police and is on the run. Ram realizes this and changes his appearance into a rich man named Pavan Kumar. The latter then meets with a man named Dashrath who has two sons Raman and Dhaman. While Raman is married to Sarita, Dhaman is in love with Nirmala. His wife Kamla who is young and pretty has ulterior motives and wants her mother-in-law to turn over her wealth and jewels to her. She then forces Dashrath to sign everything in her name and leaves him penniless.
Pavan seeing all this decides to set things right and uses his heavenly powers. Ram is unhappy that Pavan used his heavenly powers and makes him a mere mortal on earth taking away all his powers. Now he is stuck with not only Dashrath, Dhaman, Raman, etc but also a notorious gangster named Bhairo Singh who is the reincarnation of Raavan himself.
The film is directed by Babubhai Mistry and is produced by Shashi Goswami. The music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji and the story is written by Manoj Kumar. The star cast includes Manoj Kumar, Rajeev Goswami, Prem Chopra, Satish Shah, Om Prakash, Rahul, Shashikala and Madhavi.
