Charlie and Guddu, played by Shahid Kapoor are twin brothers. Charlie has a lisp and is the bad boy while Guddu stammers and is the kind soul. Charlie works for three mafia brothers and is friendly to them but hostile to his own brother. He aspires to be a bookie at horse races. At one such race, a jockey dupes him and he loses Rs 100,000 in bet. He goes to the hotel where the jockey is staying to take revenge but later accidently boards a empty police car. The car also has seized cocaine in a guitar which he steals. The police start chasing Charlie for the cocaine.
Meanwhile Guddu is love with Sweety who is politician Bhope’s sister. Bhope is enraged on finding that Guddu is a migrant from UP, he stops their wedding and assaults Guddu while taking Sweety away. Guddu and Sweety both escape. The cops see Guddu and assume it is Charlie and arrest him. Guddu meanwhile is captured by Bhope and in return for Guddu he tells the cops to take Charlie. All the confusion gets over when the cocaine is handed over to the police by Guddu and Bhope is killed. Sweety and Guddu get married, while Charlie is engaged to Sophia.
