Kamla lives in a small apartment building in Mumbai and she is young. She meets a young man and gets intimate with him and accidentally gets pregnant. This horrifies the girl and she commits suicide. The news spreads like wild fire and Sudhakar and Nirmala remember their days when they made mistakes as youngsters but corrected it in time unlike Kamla. Sudhakar got friendly with a girl Anju, got her pregnant and asked her to abort the baby. Similary Nirmala too meets her love but he doesn’t give her the required attention and her marriage is fixed with Sudhakar. Her attempt of suicide is foiled and she moves on in life. With Sudhakar and Nirmala having two daughters Geeta and Charu of Kamla’s age, they fear that they shouldn’t take drastic steps in life like the latter.
The film is directed by Basu Chatterjee and produced by NFDC. The music is composed by SALIL CHOWDHURY. The story is written by Swaraj Bandyopadhyay and the cinematography is by Ajay Prabhakar. The star cast includes Dimple Arora, Radha Asrani and Mrinal Deo.
