Kanhaiya is an Emotional-Romantic Musical Family Drama Film crafted with excellence by Om Prakash. The Story revolves around the life of Shanno (played by Nutan)- A Sweet girl living with her widowed mother Paro (played by Leela Mishra) in the village and a devotee of Lord Krishna and wants a kind Man like Krishna as her Husband. She meets with Kanhaiya (played by Raj Kapoor)- A Flautist-kind-Hearted man and falls in love with him and agrees to marry him. Things get complicated- when she felt heartbroken- when she comes to know- Kanhaiya is a drunkard and fakes his identity, leading to consequences.
