Rai Bahadur is a wealthy man and runs his business successfully. His only daughter Neeta falls in love with a poor but street smart man named Ajit. They get married against her father’s wishes and start their family in his small household. They then have a beautiful daughter named Pinky. Soon after their wedding however, Ajit begins to show his true colors and demands money from his wife and her family. This devastates Neeta and she leaves Pinky behind and commits suicide. Rai Bahadur is shocked at this news and takes Pinky with him. Years later however, history is about to repeat itself when Pinky falls in love and elopes with a taxi driver.
The film is directed by Shashilal Nair and produced by Jagdish Sharma and Kadar Kashmir. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the story and screenplay is written by Talukdars. The dialogues are written by Anwar Khan and the cinematography is by Ashok Gunjal and Shiraz. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Shammi Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Om Prakash, Shakti Kapoor, Jagdeep, Swaroop Sampat, Kiran Kumar and Aruna Irani.
