Rana Vishwa Pratap Singh is a jailor where dreaded criminals are kept to reform. One day the leader of a high profile terrorist organization is brought in the prison. His name is Mr. Dang and he has an air of arrogance about him. Thus he asks the warden of the jail to get him all the facilities in jail, just like he would in a hotel. Not being happy with his treatment he assaults the warden. Singh hears this and loses his cool. He slaps Dang in front of all the inmates. Dang does not take this humiliation lightly and swears revenge. Meanwhile, when Singh is on leave, Dang’s men break into the prison and rescue him. They massacre the jail staff and also Singh family.

Singh is distraught and decides to deal with it in his own way. He takes special permission to build a army of brave convicts who would take up the mission in return for a shorter jail term. He personally trains them and soon they begin their attack. When Singh is injured by Dang’s men the three inmates take it upon themselves to complete the mission. The film is directed and produced by Subhash Ghai. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the screenplay is by Sachin Bhowmick. The star cast includes Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Nutan, Sridevi, Poonam Dhillon, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, Dara Singh, Satyanaryan and Bindu.
