Upri is a village inhabited by the rich and prosperous but lazy landlords who have no productive skill. Bairi is a village inhabited by the lower caste people who are hard working and gained enough skills to survive. The two villages however, are at loggerheads due to a Maharaja’s rule and an unforeseen incident of murder and suicide many decades ago.
There is water shortage in the village of Upri as the villagers there are laid back and have no productive skills. Bairi on the other hand has withstood all obstacles and emerged prosperous with abundance of water. The ruler of Upri Maharaja Braj, almost backrupt does not have even have enough to send his son Raj, played by Kunal Kapoor to college. Bairi village ruler Kharu, played by Gulshan Grover has been flourishing and his daughter Paro supports him.
Raj hatches a plan to enter Bairi to get water and resources on the pretext of marrying Paro, but once there he falls in love with her. He eventually marries her and the two villages come together. Kaun Kitne Paani Mein is directed by Nila Madhab Panda and produced by One drop foundation and Eleeanora images Pvt Ltd. The music is composed by Style Bhai, Subhi, Krishna Beura and Bishakh-Kanish.
