The Indian police force suspects that one of their competent officer has been killed by a psychiatrist named Sapna Mathur. Having no substantial and solid evidence, the team is unable to press charges on the doctor. Thus they hatch a plan to send in one of their CBI officers Karan to act mentally ill and send him in her care. Thus they plan to get evidence against the doctor. This plan starts out well but soon Karan finds that he is falling in love with Sapna and things get more complicated. But Karan at the right time gathers evidence against Sapna.
The case then comes up in court and Karan submits all the evidence. Sapna is then charged with murder and sentenced to death. However at this point Karan feels she is wrongly charged and decides to find out the real culprit. The movie is directed by Partho Ghosh and produced by Kamlesh Doshi. The star cast includes Rishi Kapoor, Sridevi, Aasif Sheikh, Suresh Oberoi, Suresh Oberoi, Mohnish Bahl, Tinnu Anand, Aasif Shaikh, Avtar Gill, Gulshan Grover, Vikas Anand and Alok Nath. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan and the lyrics are written by Sameer. The cinematography is by K V Ramanna.
