Aarti lives in a huge palatial villa with her two kids after her husband is killed in an accident. Sanjay eyes her property and wealth and woos her. He somehow tricks Aarti into falling in love with her and soon they both are married. In reality he is in love with her friend Nandini. Things seem to go as planned and Aarti is unable to consummate the marriage as she still misses her husband. Sanjay takes this opportunity to spend time with his lover Nandini, which Aarti knows nothing about. One day He and Nandini take Aarti out for a boat ride in a lake that is filled with crocodiles. Sanjay pushes her into it and a crocodile attacks her. Leaving her for the dead they return home and inform everyone that she is dead. Her kids are devastated and now have to live with Sanjay who begins to ill-treat the kids.

 

Aarti however survives the attack and is found by some fishermen. A kind old man helps her recover and gives her shelter. Aarti soon comes to know Sanjay’s evil plans and leaves for the city to get a plastic surgery done. This transforms her into a beautiful lady and she joins a modeling agency.

 

Sanjay sees Aarti who now calls herself Jyoti and falls in love with her, leaving Nandini all alone. Soon Aarti sees her kids being treated badly and beaten by Sanjay and takes her revenge by killing Sanjay and his evil uncle. The film is directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan. The star cast includes Rakesh Roshan, Kabir Bedi, Rekha, Sonu Walia, Shatrughan Sinha, Kader Khan, A K Hangal, Satyajeet, Gaurav, Mangal Dhillon, Jairaj, Tom Alter, Mushtaq Merchant, Saeed Jaffrey, Sulabha Deshpande, Swetha and Shubha Khote.
