Set in the 1960’s, Zafar Ali Naqvi is an author and an aspiring writer for films. He is a self made man and lives life by his own rules. He is waiting to get his big break in life and thus is carrying on with whatever little work he can manage to find. His father and him are however at loggerheads.His father having four wives, the fourth one lusts after him and he has had enough of it and thus decides to move to Bombay for better prospects in work and life. He thus stars writing scripts for movies and is content with the kind of work he is being offered.
While working in Bombay, Zafar meets a beautiful film actress called Nikhat Sheikh. The two strike up a conversation and soon become good friends. Eventually they fall in love and decide to get married. Things seem almost perfect and blissful for the couple until an event changes everything. Nikhat learns that her mother, who lives with her boyfriend Michael, has been enjoying life at her expense and Michael has gambled all her life savings that she could have used for her marriage. Devastated and disturbed Nikhat goes into a shell. While Zafar leaves her at a time when she needed him the most.
The movie is directed by Sudhir Mishra and produced by Prakash Jha. The music is composed by Shantanu Moitra.
