Raju, played by Govinda and Urmila, played by Urmila Matondkar, meet in New Zealand and fall in love after some initial misunderstandings. They decide to meet once back in India soon. While the couple is dreaming of a beautiful future together, things take a drastic turn when Raju meets a distressed lady Sharmila, on his way back home. The lady is pregnant and is helplessly sobbing. Raju, being the kind hearted and compassionate man, helps her and she tells him her story about her cruel boyfriend who has left her in the lurch. To save Sharmila’s dignity and name, Raju decides to be her pretend husband so her family doesn’t disown her. When Raju reaches the woman’s place, he is shocked to see that Urmila is Sharmila’s younger sister. Raju now has a lot of explaining to do before his love life is completely ruined.
The movie is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Allu Aravind, Ramesh S. Taurani and Mukesh Udeshi. The music is composed by Aadesh Shrivastav and the cinematography is by Chota K. Naidu. The star cast includes Om Puri, Kader Khan, Johney Lever, Inder Kumar, Mohan Joshi, Aasif Shaikh, Raza Murad, Shammi, Jeetu Verma, Indra Kumar, Gavin, Nagma and Smita Jaykar.
