Diya, played by Aishwarya Rai, studies in university and is a brilliant student. She is strong headed and believes in love and marriage and advocates strong views on the same. She usually spends a lot of time with her uncle, played by Amitabh Bachchan in Coorgh looking after the children at his orphanage. Meanwhile she travels to Mumbai for an exam and stays at her father’s friend’s house. There she meets his lively and happy-go-lucky son Arjun, played by Vivek Oberoi. He has his own ideas on love and marriage and is not easily smitten. Diya and Arjun become good friends but keep arguing and quarrelling about their opinions on love.

 

Eventually the two realize that they have fallen in love. Although Diya is vocal about her feelings, Arjun keeps denying them. This upsets Diya and she feels heartbroken and leaves for her home in Coorg. Arjun later learns that she is marrying her childhood friend Ishaan, played by Sunil Shetty. Arjun feels love for Diya and goes to confess. Finally they unite and it is revealed that the marriage was just a fake plan by her uncle to make Arjun realize his love for Diya.

 

The movie is directed by Samir Karnik and produced byBoney Kapoor. The music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The cinematography is by Sudeep Chatterjee.
