Mehboob is a young and hard working ladies dress maker working in the Bombay film industry. His mother isn’t happy about his profession in Bombay and insists that he start his business in their hometown Lucknow. Mehboob reluctantly does as told but faces the problem of being young and attractive thus in conservative Lucknow, men find it hard to allow their sisters and wives to be measured by Mehboob for their clothes. Thus Mehboob comes up with the idea of masquerading as an old man. This idea does wonders and his business flourishes.
When two sisters Nikhat and Amra from the Nawab family, come to Mehboob for stitching clothes, he falls for them. However their cousin is hell-bent on marrying one of them as he wants to inherit their wealth. He exposes Mehboobs secret and gets him arrested too. The film is directed and produced by Khalid Akhtar. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Sanjeeev Kumar, Devan Verma, Reena Roy, Amjad Khan, Pran, Urmila Bhatt, Manju Sing and Bindu.
