Laila Majni is romantic film starring Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri . The film is presented by Imtiaz Ali and is co-produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Preety Ali, directed by Sajid Ali. Released on 7th September 2018.
The story is set on the base of the classic folk story of lovers Laila Majnu in today’s time in Kashmir where Laila and Majnu have their relevant problems that the youth face today, while dealing with the feuding families. A love story between the girl living in her own fantasy world and Qais(Majnu in this film) tries to woos her and the girl finally accepts his advances and fall in love despite the fact that her father is against this wayward boy with no reputation. Her parents are against their relationship and decide to get her married to Ibban who comes from a political background. Her father sees this as an opportunity for his benefit. Qais is heartbroken and leaves for London . When he returns for his father’s funeral in Kashmir he finds that Laila is married to a corrupt and a drunkard MLA Libbas and she has a disturbed married life. One night in his drunken state he dies in an accident . They get together again but Laila finds a change in Qais which she is not able to accept and a heartbroken Laila kills herself . Unable to bear his love dying he chases her until he is also hit by her gravestone and dies. The film ends with the two spirited souls meeting and getting together.
