The film that was partially shot in the UAE is a story about cross borders and relationship between India and Pakistan. The idea came to Bhalla to direct this film based on his own experience when he moved to the UAE a few years back. The film projects the pre-conceived mindset of people about the relationship between India and Pakistan. Manav Bhalla has been inspired by the reference to his personal life in the film and therefore wrote the script himself.
The backdrop of the film Lashtam Pashtam is to bring out the best between the one to one relationship that and Indian can have with a Pakistani friends. That In a UAE, a country that is neutral for people from all over the world, the people live in harmony and in his tenure in Dubai he made some fantastic friends who were Pakistanis much to the disbelief of his family back home in India. From there on the film talks about the stories and memories created together as friends and colleagues who came from different nationalities. And Manav Bhalla wanted the audience and the people to see the different side to the relationship of Love hate between India and Pakistan. A well made film that had, veteran actor late Om Puri who breathed his last in January 2017 has a small but significant role in the film.
