Lord Sriram defeats the evil Ravana and returns victorious to Ayodhya along with his wife Sita, where he is now crowned the emperor. He then lives in harmony with his mothers and brothers Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan along with their wives. Some of Ram’s spies inform him that it isn’t very good for his reputation as his wife has spent over a year in Lanka with Ravana. This he asks Laxman to take Sita to exile. A heavily pregnant and distraught Sita goes away and is then found by Valmiki who takes her in his ashram and there she gives birth to twin boys Luv and Khush. Valmiki trains them well and teaches them about religion, warfare and knowledge.
When Luv and Khush go to the drought struck Ayodhya to take Lord Sriram’s and Sita’s blessings and recite the Ramayana, they learn that Ram had exiled Sita and get upset. They decide never to recite the Ramayana again. The twins are then confronted by Lord Hanuman, Sriram and Lakshman, when they stop the Aswamedha horse. The movie is directed by V Madhusudan and produced by Dilip Kankaria. The music is composed by Raam Laxman and the lyrics are written by Dev Kohli and Bhring Tupkari. The star cast includes Jeetendra, Jaya Prada, Dara Singh, Pran, Pran, Arun Govil, Tiku Talsania, Aditya, Aruna Irani, Jayashree Gadkar, Beena Banerjee, Churni Chatterjee, Shreshta, Isha Gupta, Aditi Chatterji.
