Amar lives a humble lifestyle with his mother. He is unable to
find a decent job and does not take too much trouble looking
for it either. Meanwhile, he likes to while away his time in the
company of his girlfriend Rinku. His mother meets Rinku and
likes her. She advices them both to marry soon but also warns
her that Amar is destined to die under water and thus he must
be kept away from rivers, ponds, lakes, etc. She agrees and they
start planning their marriage. Things take an ugly turn one day
when Amar accidentally falls into a deep river and is swept by
its current into a waterfall.
Amar is not seen again and all assume him to be dead. After 6
months Amar’s mom is surprised and overjoyed to see her son
return home. He is restless and wants to meet Rinku as soon as
possible. However his mom tells him the bitter truth that Rinku
unfortunately has married her father’s boss. Shocked and
devastated Amar is unable to make sense of this but soon he
finds out that him falling in the river was not a mere accident
but a conspiracy to kill him. The film is directed by Ravindra
Peepat and produced by Balbir Kaur. The music is composed
by Rajiv and R D Burman. The screenplay and dialogues are
written by Vinay Shukla and the cinematography is by
Manmohan Singh. The star cast includes Raj Babbar, Asha
Parekh, Dimple Kapadia, Madan Puri and Rajendranath.
