Sameer comes to the palace of Jasor to explore its beauty and study it. While on his way he meets a beautiful lady named Rewa. She disappears at time and reappears all of a Sudden. This shocks Sameer but he is assured that she is a spirit. He wants to know the truth about how Rewa got stranded in this condition and she is the one who tells him. As a child, Rewa and her sister Tara were happy-go-lucky living with their father. Tara used to perform for king Param and he has lusty eyes for her. He hatches a plan to keep her with him and not let her leave. Their music teacher comes to know of the king’s evil plan and warns them. The three try to escape on a camel, but only Tara is able to escape and is never heard of again. Their father is lashed to death while Rewa is imprisoned.
The king keeps Rewa in captivity for 8 years till she grows into a women and wants to have her for himself. Soon she too is helped to escape but dies in a sandstorm. Her soul is then trapped in time. Turns out Sameer is one of the King’s acquaintances who helped her escape. He unites herwith her family. The film is directed by Gulzar and produced by HridaynathMangeshkar. The music is composed by HridaynathMangeshkar. The star cast includes VinodKhanna, Dimple Kapadia, Amjad Khan,Alok Nath,Vijeyendra,Manohar Singh,Ram Mohan,Ajit Vachani, Beena Banerjee, Hema Malini and Moon Moon Sen.
