Tanvi, played by Rituparna Sengupta is a successful banker who is not about to be promoted as an assistant VP in her company. Her husband Nikhil is a financier and they have been married for over 3 years. Incidentally Tanvi does a preganancy test, which turns out to be positive. She and Nikhil are elated at hearing the good news of her promotion as well as that of her being pregnant. Their happiness knows no bounds as they go about celebrating.
However their bliss is short lived, when Tanvi learns that being pregnant will come in the way of her promotion and she is forced to abort her child in order to achieve the high ladder of success. Nikhil on hearing about the aborting is infuriated and they both have a huge argument and things get strained in their relationship. After a while they both forget their differences and come together. They decide to have a baby through surrogacy.
Thus they choose a village girl called Gauri to be the surrogate of their child. Tanvi however is insecure about what the society will label her, for having a child through an unorthodox manner like this. She also lives in the fear that Gauri might want to keep the child after she delivers. The movie is directed by Anup Das and produced by Sanjay Kalate.
