Rahul, played by Sharman Joshi, works at a call center and he is in love with Neha, played by Kangana Ranaut. But little does he know that his boss Ranjeet, played by Kay Kay Menon is secretly having an affair with her and using his empty apartment to make love to her. Ranjeet meanwhile is married to Shikha, played by Shilpa Shetty and they have a daughter. They keep having arguments and fights. She meets a young and handsome theatre actor Akash and they are attracted to each other over time but Shikha feels guilty and leaves him.
Shikha’s younger sister Shruti, played by Konkana Sen Sharma is Neha’s roommate. Shruti is sad that she doesn’t have a boyfriend and decides to meet a boy called Monty, played by Irrfan Khan and doesn’t like him much due to his eccentric behavior and habits but he pursues her. Rahul meanwhile offers his apartment to his superiors to have fun with their mistresses and be in their good books for a promotion. One day he sees Neha unconscious in his apartment and learns that she is sleeping with his boss but he is using her and doesn’t really love her so she tries to kill herself.
Neha realizes that Rahul truly loves her. Shruti and Monty decide to get married and Shikha goes back to her husband. Th elderly couple Amol and Shivani too meet after many years and decide to get married. The movie is directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The music is composed by Pritam and Raju Singh.
