Amar is an honest and dedicated police inspector. He has dedicated his life to fight crime and free his country of criminals. He is thus charged up to arrest gangster Sher Singh along with his partner Dayal. This puts them in trouble and Amar as well as Dayal are attacked by Sher Singh. Amar somehow manages to escape but Dayal unfortunately looses his legs and is wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. Meanwhile Amar arrests conniving and corrupt politician Jagannath, but the latter is soon released and no charges are levied against him. Amar is frustrated and resigns.
Sher Singh then takes a bus full of people hostage and asks that his associates be released in return. Dayal’s granddaughter is one among them and he asks Amar for help. The latter thus tales help of ex-convict Qasim and drug dealer Karan. The trio rescue the group but part ways due to their differences. The film is directed by Raj N Sippy and produced by Salim Akhatar. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The star cast includes Dharmendra, Shatrughan Sinha, Karan Kapoor, Madhavi, Mandakini, Kader Khan, Amrish Puri, Raza Murad and Joginder.
