Love Sex Aur Dhokha is a 2010 Anthology thriller film written and directed by Dibakar Banerjee under the production of Balaji Motion Pictures. The A certificate movie which is reportedly the first movie to be entirely shot in digital, making it India’s first found footage film. The anthology film comprising of three independent films was a stark, sarcastic and keen take on media voyeurism of our times. The film stars actors like Anshuman Jha, Nushrat Bharucha , Rajkumar Rao and others in the lead.
The first story deals with three sensationalized new reports with each case being three different independent storylines of the narrative each with the three independent titles of the movie name as in Love, Dhokha and Sex in three segments. The first story titled Super hit Pyaar is synonymous to the title “Love” and tells the story of a an twenty year old aspiring director who falls in love with a wannabe young actress only to have major setbacks coming their way leading up to a tragic climax.
The second interconnected part of the story titled “ Paap Ki Dukkan” synonymous to Sex in the film’s title narrated the story of a poor girl working at a supermarket who is cheated on to make sex with one of her co-workers , he in turn having stricken a deal to the sell the video to the media to clear of his debts.
The third story titled Badnaam Shohorat narrated the misadventures of a sting operator investigative reporter and was synonymous to Dhokha from the tiltle. The movie was a critical phenomenon and panned out to be a modern day cult classic of Bollywood. The movie bagged praises for its unique making style, novel concept and out of the box convictions. Love Sex Aur Dhokha also managed to be a decent hit at the box office.
