Chandan Singh is an honest and hard working poor famer living in a remote village with his wife Malti and children Munna and Munni. One day three goons attack Malti and try to molest her. When Chandan tries to stop them Malti is shot dead. Munna and Munni subsequently get separated. Munna is adopted by a Muslim man and is renamed Shera while Munni is adopted by a Hindu family and renamed Geeta. When they grow up Geeta becomes a notorious thief and Shera is a gangster in his own right. Geeta is in love with Kishan who is a goon looking for Chandan, who he think killed his brother. Shera meanwhile accepts a assignment to kill non other than Chandan, who he has no idea is his own biological father. The film is directed by Shibu Mitra and produced by S K Kapoor. The music is composed by Sonik Omi. The star cast includes Ashok Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Ajit, Bindu, Amjad Khan and Pran.
