Hariya has been living a vagabond life where he has no idea about his parentage or family. One day during a fight with Tahkur Balram Singh’s goons, Hariya is wounded and falls unconscious near a temple and a woman prays for his recovery. Soon the pujari of the temple tells Hariya that the woman praying over him was non other than his mother. His father was a poor farmer who died of shock when Balram Singh grabbed his land. Hariya now swears revenge on Balram and wants his land back at any cost. Meanwhile Balram plays a nasty game when he gives the land to his nephew Balraj, knowing well that he is good friends with Hariya. This way he creates misunderstandings between the two friends.Balraj meanwhile comes back and accepts the land but is furious to learn that the woman he loves is living with Hariya. The film is directed by Raj Khosla and produced by Pawan Kumar and Dr Lakhan Singh. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Shatrughan Sinha, Raj Babbar, Rekha, Reena Roy, Om Puri, Amjad Khan, Sudhir Dalvi and Tanuja
