Maatr which means The Mother is a crime thriller film which was released on the 21st of April 2017, directed by Ashtar Sayed, story written by Michael Pellico and was produced under the banner of CBD Musical. Music is composed by the famous Pakistani Sufi Rock Band Fuzon. Starring Raveena Tandon in an important role as the Mother along with Alisha Khan, Madhur Mital, Divya Jagdale , Shailendra Goel, Anurag Arora, Saheem Khan and Rushad Rana.
The film was shot in Delhi and Haryana.
Vidya Chauhan (Raveena Tandon) a teacher lives with her husband Ravi (Rushad Rana) and their daughter Tia (Alisha Khan). The story takes a terrible turn of events when a Politician’s son and his friends who kidnap and sexually molest the teacher and her daughter.
The daughter dies and the mother survives to take revenge and leaves no proof after she kills the culprit. She also kills the politician and walks out from the CM’s office leaving no trace of her killing.
The legal system fails to support her and hence she has to take things in her hands and the investigation officer buckles under pressure and tries his best to brush off the case. The movie makes you realise to take care and become stronger of such situations and to be aware.
