N. Shankaran Nair wrote and directed the 1978 Indian film Madanolsavam, which was also produced by R.M. Subbiah under the production company R.M.S. Pictures. Kamal Haasan and Zarina Wahab play the leading roles in the movie. Salil Chowdhury provided the musical score for the movie.
